The Army Promotion Point Worksheet is the official DA Form 3355 that is used to calculate soldier’s points towards promotion. Printing out your own blank copy and filling it in can help you keep track of your own points in case something gets messed up (it always does).

I suggest you start assembling all the documents, certifications, and awards you have to get started. This is something I actually recommend starting as an E-1 in the Army. You can create a binder with the Promotion Point Worksheet on the top and all of your supporting paperwork behind that. You will often hear this referred to as an “I Love Me Book” and often resembles a promotion packet. This makes everything you need easily accessible and organized for the moments when S-1 loses your stuff.

APFT Promotion Points

Points awards for the APFT are not the same as your score on the PT test. Look on your PT card to find out what you scored and compare that to the numbers below to find your promotion points earned. Make sure you look at the chart for your rank. There is a chart for promotion to E5 and promotion to E6. Write down the date of your APFT and the number of promotion points earned on your promotion point worksheet.
